NQA urges Namibian students to think carefully before enrolling with high institutions in order to avoid registering with bogus institutions

WINDHOEK: The Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) has urged Namibian students to think carefully before enrolling with high institutions, in order to avoid registering with bogus institutions.

In a media statement yesterday, the NQA said while a qualification can represent hope for economic emancipation and a better future, that dream can turn into nightmare if that qualification is gained from an unaccredited institution.

On a quarterly basis, the NQA releases a list of accredited institutions to empower the public in choosing the right institutions for their further studies.

NQA said education and training is critical as it is not only facilitating the enhancement of employability of graduates, but also to ensure that the link between education outcomes and societal needs is strengthened.

The NQA therefore invited all training providers to proactively apply for accreditation and register all their programmes on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

It added that the priority to sustainable socio-economic development and accomplishing national objectives lies in education and qualifications.
