Omaheke Boot Zambezi

Omaheke showed no mercy to rivals Zambezi as they beat them 2 – 1 in their final Group A match.

Brimming with confidence after edging past Kunene in their previous match, the Omaheke relentlessly attacked Zambezi from the onset.

The early pressure and hunger for a second victory was rewarded with an early goal thanks to a strike from key player Bornface Siyanga.

Zambezi mounted a response, coming close to equalising on numerous occasions but were denied by excellent goalkeeping from Umuna Kahiriri.

With both teams trying to score the game’s second goal, the referee got the crowd and either side agitated with a number of questionable calls.

However on the stroke of half time, Omaheke again came close to scoring their second but were denied the opportunity by the Zambezi defence.

The start of the second half mirrored the beginning of the match as another early finish by the Omaheke striker Raphael Seibeb registered his team’s second goal.

The Zambezi boys battled back, pulling one back through a brilliant long range shot by Mahoto Ianjan.

But try as they might, their efforts for a second and equalising goal did not materialise as Omaheke saw out the match.

Omaheke’s captain, Vitapi Ngaruka scooped the Man Of the Match award.
