Omaheke Governor Calls for Effective Service Delivery

THE Omaheke governor Festus Ueitele has called on local authorities to improve equitable and effective service delivery for their respective local communities, which could catalyse socio-economic development.

Addressing participants at the official opening of the 7th Nalasra held at Gobabis, Ueitele noted that the “times are gone when people had to beg for services” at local authorities.

“We cannot have clean central business districts and dirty suburbs, which are representing the notion of a widening gap between the haves and have-nots,” Ueitele warned.

Ueitele aised that local authorities need officials who will be characterised as people with soft hearts, tough minds, upright character, skillful hands and allergic to injustice, laziness and corruption These characteristics, Ueitele added, will make officials excel in their work and propel them to have local authorities not only as ideal and attractive hubs for investors and visitors, but also as the preferred localities for their local communities.

The governor said he has no doubt that the games will contribute towards productive local authorities’ employees and promote their wellness.
