Omusati Bow Out of the Tournament in Style

The third day of the tournament saw Omusati and Ohangwena meet for a great display of fancy footwork and great sportsmanship with Omusati winning 3 – 0 in the final group match of the tournament.

Both teams were already out of the running for a semi-final spot with Kavango and Otjozondjupa taking the two spots on offer in their group.

Omusati received a penalty in the early minutes of the game but captain Ndilipunye Hambunda’s attempt did nothing to bother the agile goalkeeper of Ohangwena, Michael Nalukaku.

Ohangwena made a counter attack but missed a brilliant chance in front of goal.

As the teams tried to out pass each other Omusati carved out another chance for Liberius Florian. He made no mistake and buried the ball in the back of the net. The first half then ended 1 – 0.

Things started slowly in the second half note but as soon as Omusati saw a chance they took it when Gabriel Amutse ran through the defence to drive a powerful shot into the net.

Seconds later they scored again through Pius Shifiona.

Festus Efraim from Ohangwena got several brilliant chances to bury the ball in the net but it seemed he left his scoring boots at home. It was a gloomy day for him and his team as they tried to hold on without any success.

It was just not their day as the match ended 3 – 0 in Omusati’s favour with them not being able to find the net much to the disappointment of the crowd.

At the end of the match, Liberuis Florian was awarded the man of the match price.
