Otavi-based NPL team Touch & Go Football Club relegated to the North West First Division Stream after ending 14th on the log

WINDHOEK: Otavi-based Namibia Premier League (NPL) team Touch & Go Football Club were yesterday relegated to the North West First Division Stream after ending 14th on the log.

The 2014/15 NPL season came to an end yesterday with games being played at various sports fields around the country.

Touch & Go went into their last game of the season hoping Rundu-based Julinho Sporting or Walvis Bay-based Eleven Arrows drop points for them to survive if they won their last game.

Despite winning their last game of the season 3-1 against Benfica at the Oscar Norich Stadium in Tsumeb on Saturday, Touch & Go were still relegated to the First Division for the 2015/16 season.

Speaking to Nampa on Sunday, Touch & Go Public Relations Officer Jafta Gaoab said their aim is to fight their way back to the Premier League in the 2016/17 season.

With Touch & Go; Rebels and Benfica relegated to their respective First Division Streams, three new teams will be joining the NPL for the 2015/16 season.

Rundu Chiefs from the North East First Division Stream, Young Chiefs from the North West Stream and Flamingoes from the Southern Stream are all destined for the premier league.
