Otjozondjupa Flabbergast Omusati

It took another moment of brilliance from the highflying Glen Kamutjete to secure victory for Otjozondjupa, their third, in a thrilling outing contested on a chilly Saturday night.

The capacity crowd that braved the cold weather was treated to another goal-feast as the boys from central Namibia romped to a commanding 3 – 1 victory over the boys from northern Namibia.

Striker Roberto Helmuth Rugam gave Otjozundjupa an early lead with a well-taken header after he connected with a corner-kick from the left side of their attack within the opening 20 matches of the exciting encounter.

The score finished 1 – 0 at half-time.

However, Omusati gave the defending champions a big scare after winger Liberius Wetu Florian pulled one goal back for his side with a brilliantly taken volley from outside the box that gave goalkeeper Roberto Katjinamuene no chance at all.

Then Kamutjete arrived to party with two moments of brilliance that gave him his third Man of the Match award, first with a humdinger of a low drive for his sixth goal of the tournament before his other powerful strike was spilled into the path of Phillipus Shiweda who had the easiest task of simply walking the ball into the empty Omusati net for the third goal of the brilliant Otjozondjupa.

Man of the match Glen Kamutjete received his third award of the tournament from councillor Vetaruhe Kandorozu.
