Pirates Shock Tigers

Orlando Pirates threw the Namibia Premier League title race wide open with a come from behind 2-1 victory against Tigers on Saturday night.

Tigers seemed to be heading for a comfortable victory when Protash Kabwe put them ahead after only three minutes when he volleyed in a cross by T21.

T21 also hit the post late towards the end of the first half, but Pirates rode their luck and came back a different side in the second half.

Luckson Kaisa equalised with a great header from a corner, while Marcello Haraseb scored their winning goal when he slammed home a rebound that bounced off the crossbar.

Tigers had a great opportunity to draw level when they won a penalty in the final 15m, but they failed to take it as Kabwe’s shot hit the post.

Black Africa now lead the log on 35 points, followed by Tigers on 34, while Orlando Pirates are third on 28 points.

On Friday night, African Stars beat Civics through an injury time goal by Ferdinand Karongee to move up to third on the log on 28 points.

In Rundu, Rundu Chiefs won the Rundu derby against United Stars 2-0.

Joseph Mundumbu and Alex scored the goals fro Rundu Chiefs, which lifts them from the bottom of the log into 11th position.

In Walvis Bay, Blue Waters beat Tura Magic 2-1 with Edom Dominic and Johannes Nambuli scoring their goals.
