Pohamba Appoints New Ambassadors

PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba yesterday appointed five new heads of mission to represent Namibia in various countries.

The former Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mbapeua Muvangua, has been appointed High Commissioner to Botswana. Muvangua will replace Swapo veteran politician Hadino Hishongwa.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Operations in the Namibian Police Force, Major-General Vilio Hifindaka has been appointed as the first designated Ambassador to Congo-Brazzaville.

Trudie Amulungu, who is currently attached to the Namibia National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) in Paris, France has been appointed as the first designated ambassador to Senegal.

The deputy Head of Mission at the Namibian High Commission in Botswana, Charles Bernardt Josob has been appointed as high commissioner to Ghana and trade attacheacute at the Namibian Embassy in Belgium, Bonny Haufiku has been appointed as the first designated Ambassador to Finland.
