Police requests public assistance in identifying a man who is confused and does not remember where he comes from

OTJIWARONGO: Police in Otjiwarongo are requesting public assistance in identifying a 45-year-old man who is seemingly confused and does not remember where he comes from.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Public Relations Officer, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha said the man has identified himself as Gideon Ndumbe.

Ndumbe has been held under the care of police at Otjiwarongo for the past week.

Mbeha said the man has not been clear about his origins and claims to have come from either Kalkfeld, Okondjatu or Otjiwarongo.

Ndumbe was brought to the Otjiwarongo Police Station last Tuesday (23 December 2014) by some police officers who were travelling from the Kunene Region.

The police officers found him walking alone on foot along the road between Kamanjab and Outjo.

Mbeha has asked members of the public to call the Otjiwarongo Police Station at 067 300600 if they are missing a relative.
