ONGWEDIVA: The Police in the Oshikoto Region have appealed to the public to assist in the identification of people who died in a road accident on the Ondangwa-Oshivelo Road on Monday.

Chief Inspector Stephan Nuuyi of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Community Affairs’ Unit in the region issued the appeal in a telephonic interview with Nampa yesterday.

Nuuyi said any member of the public with a relative or friend who has not yet returned home from the northern parts of the country as of Monday, is asked to approach the Police at the Okatope station in the Onyaanya Constituency.

Seven people died on Monday at about 16h00 at the Onyaanya village on the Ondangwa-Oshivelo main road when a Volkswagen Polo and a Toyota Corolla collided.

Nuuyi said the two sedans were traveling from opposite direction, but details concerning the collision remain sketchy.
