Premier league match between Orlando Pirates Football Club and African Stars abandoned after a power blackout hit Dolam area

WINDHOEK: Last night’s premier league match between Orlando Pirates Football Club (FC) and African Stars match was abandoned after a power blackout hit the whole Dolam area with only 10 minutes to go before the final whistle.

At that stage of the match, Orlando Pirates were leading African Stars 2-0 with both goals having been scored during the first half.

Orlando Pirates’ first goal came courtesy of a rocket-like shot from the left corner by striker Nicky Musambani in the 28th minutes.

Nine minutes later, Pirates’ defender Brian Gurirab’s scored from a free kick to bring the half-time score line to 2-0.

For the second half, African Starts came out strongly, but squandered a couple of great chances before the Pirates goal.
