President commends Old Mutual Namibia for heeding Government’s call for financial institutions and other private businesses to invest in country’s economy

KEETMANSHOOP: President Hifikepunye Pohamba yesterday commended the leadership of Old Mutual Namibia for heeding Government’s call for financial institutions and other private businesses to invest in the country’s economy.

The President made the remarks at the inauguration of the Mutual Keetmanshoop Mall at Keetmanshoop in the //Karas Region. Old Mutual Namibia has invested N. dollars 92 million in the construction and development of the shopping mall.

He added that it is particularly important that private sector businesses consider designing programmes to assist members of the communities they operate in.

Pohamba noted that it is in this context that he personally commends the leadership and management of Old Mutual Namibia for its initiative to construct a modern shopping facility for the residents of the southern town of Keetmanshoop and the surrounding farming areas.

Pohamba also said he was pleased with the Old Mutual Namibia Managing Infrastructure Development in Namibia (MIDINA) Fund, through which the company has invested about N.dollars 120 million for the serving and delivery of land in Otjomuise Extension Four in the capital that is aimed at improving the economic growth of the country.
