President praises former Standard Bank CEO for a job well-done

WINDHOEK: President Hifikepunye Pohamba today praised former Standard Bank Chief Executive Officer Mpumzi Pupuma for a job well-done while at the helm of the bank.

Pupuma’s contract ended in May this year, while Pohamba’s term of office ends on 21 March 2015.

Pupuma has been replaced by Junius Mungunda.

The Namibian Head of State invited Pupuma for lunch at State House to show the Namibian Government’s appreciation to the outgoing Standard Bank Namibia chief.

Pohamba said Standard Bank has done a wonderful job in Namibia.

On his part, Pupuma thanked the government for allowing him to provide banking service to Namibians.

Pupuma highlighted that 10 per cent of Standard Bank shares will be transferred to Standard Bank workers before the end of this year.

He also announced that Standard Bank Namibia will be listed on the Namibia Stock Exchange (NSX) in 2019.
