President reiterates call for political parties to campaign peacefully for Nov elections this year

SWAKOPMUND: President Hifikepunye Pohamba has reiterated his call for all political parties to campaign peacefully for the November national elections this year.

The president last Wednesday arrived at the coastal town of Swakopmund in the Erongo Region for a three-day working visit.

He was received at the Swakopmund airport by Erongo Regional Governor Cleophas Mutjavikua and other regional and local authority councillors.

Pohamba was taken straight to the Swakopmund municipal offices, where he held a meeting with various regional and local authority councillors.

He then appealed to all political parties to campaign peacefully during the elections, saying Namibia does not want any more fights or bloodshed.

Pohamba went on to say that Namibians should unite and work together for the benefit of all, irrespective of their political affiliation.
