Process to acquire a new CoW’s CEO expected to kick-start soon

WINDHOEK: The process to acquire a new City of Windhoek (CoW)’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is expected to kick-start as soon as councillors are back from recess later this month.

CoW’s Public Relations Officer, Lydia Amutenya, told Nampa yesterday all the councilors will be at the office from 19 January 2015.

She said Strategic Executive Manager for Electricity Edward Kawesha, will be acting as CEO until further notice.

Kawesha has been an interim boss since 17 December 2014, after former CEO Niilo Taapopi’s term of office ended on 16 December 2014.

Taapopi, who was also served as employed as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration before, joined the municipality in 2004.
