PTA Tennis Series in action as from next weekend

WINDHOEK: The Pro Tennis Academy (PTA) Tennis Series are set to kick-off it’s for a new season on Friday 6th February 2015, at the Windhoek High School tennis courts in the capital.

In a media statement availed to Nampa on Friday, the Director and Head Coach of the PTA, Romeo van Wyk, said they are confident that this year is going to be ‘bigger and better’ than last year.

“The PTA Tennis Series is the only series of tennis tournaments in Namibia where the participants play according to your skill level and not their age,” he said, adding that they want to start where PTA left off last year.

“We are excited to see what this season brings and we are sure that there will be a lot of highly contested tennis action on display,” said van Wyk.

Van Wyk state added that there will be a total of eight tournaments with points up for grabs for the various playing categories.

He said the total number of players for this weekend’s tournament have not yet been confirmed, but they expect players like; Cody and Connor van Schalkwyk, Oliver Diggle, Cleet Farmer, Logino Goraseb, Delicia Dirkse and Mike Kambonde to be among the competitors.
