Rebels Ready for Unam

Namibia Premier League (NPL) team Rebels Football Club are well prepared for their clash against Unam FC at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday.

Speaking to Nampa on Thursday, Rebels’ coach Martin Bock said the club had signed six players for the last round of the 201415 NPL currently underway, and are determined to pick up from where they left off last year.

“We still want to carry forth the momentum and improve our position on the log standing,” he said.

Rebels have 10 points and are currently placed 14th out of 16 teams.

“We would like to end the season with an improved log position of at least being in the middle, and if it is higher than that it will be a bonus for us,” said Bock.

The players signed are Simeon Tjiueza from Tigers FC, Phillip Jena from Zimbabwe, Immanuel Tjiroza (unattached), Levert Feris, and Yoran Martin both from South Africa.

Bock identified the sixth player only as “Ballack” also from Zimbabwe.

On his part, Unam coach Marcelo Wakudumo said preparations are going well for his team, and his technical team did well to get the players fit. He said that they are now prepared for their first encounter of the second round.

“I believe that every coach wants to collect three points from every game, and that is what we want in this round,” said Wakudumo.

Unam started the season on a high note last year, but now find themselves eighth on the log with 21 points.

“We take it every match at a time, and we are determined to end the season at an improved position than where we are now,” he stated. – Nampa
