Record Draw for Show Jumping, Dressage Nationals

This weekend’s 55th annual FNB Namibia National Show Jumping and Dressage Championships have attracted a record number of entries.

With a record high of 115 entries, the weekend promises spectacular competition and excitement, said the organisers.

The championships will be hosted by the Gymkhana Club Windhoek and start on Friday, 25 July at 11h30, with the conclusion set for Sunday, 27 July at 15h00, when the Grand Champion horses and riders will be crowned.

“These championships are the highlight on the equestrian calendar as all the hard work during the year will pay off for those riders and horses that want to reach the highest accolades in Namibia,” said vice chairman of Gymkhana Club Windhoek and show co-ordinator Romeacute Barth.

She added that they were indebted to FNB Namibia, who have been the main sponsors of the event for the past 11 years.

“We could not host this event without the kind support from our sponsors, so a big thank you goes to each and every sponsor,” Barth said.

The Gymkhana Club Windhoek and the Namibian Equestrian Federation (Namef) invite the Namibian public to join them in celebrating this prestigious sport.

“As always, there will be enough to eat and drink, served with true Namibian hospitality. Members of the public are welcome to attend the social event on Saturday evening,” Romeacute said.
