Seaflower Donates Fish to Governor’s Office

The Seaflower Group donated five tons of fish for drought relief to the Karas governor’s office and one ton to the !Nami#nus Regional Council to use in the upcoming World Aids Day commemoration on December 01.

The acting chief executive officer of Seaflower, Mike Nhgipunya, said the donated fish would be distributed to those taking HIV medication but do not have enough food.

Nghipunya made the donation on Friday last week saying the company would continue to give back to the community by putting food on the table of those in need.

Dr Joseph Katuku from the Luumlderitz State Hospital received the donation for the HIV patients.

Lucia Basson, aisor to the Karas Governor, Bernardus Swartbooi, received the donation on behalf of the governor, and said the donated fish would be distributed to those who are having soup kitchens, while some will be distributed to the elderly and vulnerable children as an early Christmas gift.

She encouraged Seaflower to continue helping the Namibian nation, and appealed to other companies to follow suit.

Nghipunya also introduced Namibia’s former Big Brother Chase contestant Maria Nepembe as the face of Seaflower Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
