Seven nations to compete in this year’s Zone Six Karate Games

ONGWEDIVA: Seven nations are set to compete in this year’s Zone Six Karate Games, which start in Zambia on Saturday.

The games end on Tuesday.

Speaking to Nampa yesterday, Freddie Mwiya of the Oshakati Karate Club pointed out that the seven countries are Namibia, Botswana, Angola, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho and the host Zambia.

Namibia will be represented by 51 fighters.

Mwiya said these players are from different clubs all over the country.

Leonard Martin is the team’s head coach, Mwiya is the assistant coach and Rowan Carstens is the team manager.

Namibia came second overall winner after South Africa during last year’s Zone Six Games.
