Shanapinda Resigns From Cran

COMMUNICATIONS Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) CEO, Stanley Shanapinda has resigned.

CRAN chairperson, Lazarus Jacobs said yesterday that Shanapinda has resigned to take up a scholarship to pursue his PhD in Computer Science and legal aspects of cyber security at the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Shanapinda was appointed in June 2011. Jacobs said the board has in the interim appointed Hilma Hitula as acting CEO. Hitula has served as the vice chairperson of the pioneering CRAN board.

As admitted legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia, Hitula has practiced law for 16 years.
