Shipahu Donates to Blue Waters

Brave Warriors striker Tangeni Shipahu on Saturday donated playing gear to his former club Blue Waters.

Blue Waters was the first Namibia Premier League club that Shipahu represented, before he joined Tigers in Windhoek.

Since then the talented striker broadened his horizons as he joined Amazulu in the South African Professional Soccer League, before joining his current club, Osotspa in the Thai Premier League.

Shipahu made the donation to Blue Waters before their MTC Namibia Premier League match against Julinho Sporting at the Kuisebmond Stadium on Saturday, which Blue Waters won 2-0.

Shipahu, who last year also donated playing gear to Tigers, said he wanted to support his former clubs.

“Blue Waters was the first team that I played for in the Namibia Premier League and they helped me on my path so I’d like to give back to them. I’m planning to give an annual donation to Blue Waters and Tigers in the form of money, playing gear or equipment,” he said.

Shipahu is currently on holiday in Namibia after completion of the Thai Premier League where Osotspa finished ninth overall.

“We had a very bad season, that was our worst performance over the past few years, so we will have to work hard in the new season,” he said, adding that he will return to Thailand in January 2015.
