SKW Boys Victorious in Germany

A combined SKW boys team, consisting of U17 and U19 players convincingly won an international youth soccer tournament in Velen, Germany over the weekend.

They didn’t concede a goal throughout the tournament and in the final they beat DFJ Coersfeld from Germany 4-0.

A total of ten teams from seven nations, namely Germany, Poland, Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway and Namibia competed in the tournament. It was the first time that an African team had been invited to the tournament.

SKW topped their group convincingly by winning all their matches. In the semifinals SKW beat Ballinasloe from Ireland on penalties, before crowning their tour with a 4-0 victory against DJK Coersfeld in the final.

The hosts Velen also showed their guests around, as the boys visited the Borussia Dortmund stadium and had fun and entertainment at an amusement park amongst others.

SKW will play two more friendlies this week to gain experience and make friends for the future.

The boys will arrive back in Namibia at 04h50 on Saturday morning.
