Social Security Commission Launches Customer Charter

THE Social Security Commission has launched its customer service charter which defines the service levels that its customers can expect.

“It is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to provide value added service and ensure maximum utilisation of the benefits we offer,” said Rino Muranda, manager of communication and marketing.

Muranda said the charter would be reviewed on a regular basis to keep in touch with the changing needs of the customers.

Among the commitments promised by Muranda are that customers will be assisted within 15 minutes of their arrival at any service point and that Good Standing Certificates will be issued within two working days.

The charter also gives guaranteed time frames for the payment of benefits, and pledges that maternity leave payments would be made within seven days, sick leave within 10 days, and death benefits within 33 days.
