South African Premier Comedian Promises to Have You in Stitches

National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) presents tomorrow the South African top stand-up comedian Nik Rabinowitz, themed Oscar Winning Performance, a reference to the Oscar Pistorius trial currently ongoing in South Africa.

Following an almost two month sold out run at Cape Town’s Baxter Theatre, Rabinowitz brings his new one man show to the NTN. Six years ago he performed his one man show In The Nik at the Warehouse Theatre and last year he opened for Lazarus Jacobs in his one man show Keeping up with the Kandeshi’s.

Rabinowitz is not only very funny, he also has a list of achievements the likes of which many can only aspire to. He represented South Africa at the Jewish Olympics, which is like the normal Olympics, but with more dentists and accountants. Most impressively, he universally agreed to be the finest Xhosa-speaking Jewish stand-up comedian in the entire world. Over the past ten years Rabinowitz has established himself as one of Africa’s premier comedian. International performances have included the United Kingdom(UK), Holland, Australia,Canada and most recently the United State of America (USA).

“The nation can expect a tall, skinny, curly-haired white man – this should be enough to attract the numbers. Also, the nation can expect to laugh. The nation should come in before-mentioned numbers so Nik can fill the theatre and make a decent profit so he can pay for his children’s private school fees,” says Rabinowitz. He promises a night of good entertainment with amazing stories from the southern neighbour. “I will tell stories from the frontline and the back page, stories of scandal and intrigue and stories of travel and extreme babysitting. I am looking forward to congratulate Namibia on your new name German South West Africa really wasn’t a great one,” says Rabinowitz. Tickets are N$150 from Computicket and the show starts at 19h00.
