Standard Bank Auto Show launched

WINDHOEK; Standard Bank Namibia’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Junius Mungunda launched the annual Standard Bank Namibia Auto Show in the capital on Wednesday.

The auto show is scheduled to take place at the SKW Sports Field in Olympia on 04 and 05 July. It will be hosted under the theme ‘Start your engine’.

Mungunda said the show has grown immensely since its inception eight years ago, and has become a popular event for both motor dealers and motor fanatics.

The Standard Bank Namibia CEO said the event has in the past attracted a lot of spectators – last year, 17 155 people visited the two-day show – and the bank is optimistic that it will attract even more people this year.

He said he is also optimistic that the revenue to be generated from the show this year will show an increase when compared to last year, when total revenue of N.dollars 42 million was recorded.

The objective of the show is to create a platform for dealers to show off their products under one roof.

Mungunda noted that 32 dealerships are expected to participate in the show this year.

“This time around our focus will be on promoting the local car dealers who will also have a grand spectacle of vehicles on display,” he said.

For the first time in the auto show’s history, there will also be bike flying stunts, sound-offs and a 4X4 Track ‘Vasbyt’ terrain.

Customers can also look forward to special finance terms, which will be announced at a date closer to the event.
