Students Invited to Enter Essay Competition!

The Global Development Network (GDN) is calling on all students in any African university to speak out on the future of Africa 2025.

Students between the ages of 21 to 29 are required to write an essay of 15000 characters under the theme, Imagining the future of Africa 2025 by putting forward positive proposals for the future of the African continent on three main issues such as economic challenges, environmental challenges and social and political challenges. Submissions will be judged on both analytical rigour, quality of exposition and written expression. Deadline for entries is March 31 at 18h00 India Standard Time (IST).

In partnership or individually, students are requested to take this opportunity to make their voice heard, and to take part in the discussions on the future scenarios for Africa. Fifty selected students will be invited to attend to the GDN 15th Annual Development Conference (ADC) to exchange their views with experts, researchers, policy-makers and economist from around the world.

The conference will take place in June (18-20) in Accra, Ghana. Transport and accommodation will be paid by the organisers of the conference. Students will also participate in a dedicated session the day before the conference on June 17.The GDN is a public International Organisation that builds research capacity in development globally.
