Swapo has solid track record: Pohamba (video clip)

WINDHOEK: The Swapo-Party government will continue to maintain national unity, peace and stability as the cornerstone for democratic governance, party president Hifikepunye Pohamba says.

Speaking during the party’s last star rally at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday, he said the government will continue to concentrate on ‘bread-and-butter issues’ which affect the daily lives of the Namibian people. Here he was referring to among others education, health care, housing and sanitation, potable water, and electricity.

The rally was in view of the Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for next Friday.

“As part of the Swapo-Party’s strategy to achieve our National Development Plans (NDPs) and Vision 2030, we allocated substantial resources for the expansion, modernisation and maintenance of our physical and communication infrastructure,” Pohamba told the audience.

He said Swapo has a solid track record in governance and service delivery, and will continue on these achievements in order to further improve the living conditions of all people.

Pohamba noted that with the support of all Swapo members, their party and its presidential candidate Dr Hage Geingob will emerge victorious in the upcoming elections.
