Swapo-Party member Hileni Ulumbu sworn in as CoW Councilor

WINDHOEK: Swapo-Party member Hileni Ulumbu was yesterday sworn in as a City of Windhoek (CoW) Councilor.

Ulumbu was sworn in before Windhoek District Magistrate Justine Asino during the monthly city council meeting.

She replaced former councilor Agnes Kafula, who became a Member of Parliament (MP).

Kafula was elected and positioned at number four of the Swapo Party’s list of candidates for the National Assembly during the party’s Electoral College on 30 August 2014.

Kafula was first elected to the Council of Windhoek in May 2004, where she served as a member of the Management Committee (MC) between 2005-2007, a Deputy Mayor in 2008 and Chairperson of the MC from 2011 to 2012.

She served as Windhoek Mayor from 2013 to 2014.
