Tax payers’ money being misused: RDPYL

WINDHOEK: The Rally for Democracy and Progress Youth League (RDPYL) has expressed disappointment in the government for misusing public funds on non-essential events.

Among others, RDPYL Secretary-General, Monica Nambelela referred to the forthcoming inauguration of Present-elect Hage Geingob in March this year.

Local media reports this week had it that the inauguration ceremony and coinciding 25th Independence celebration will have a combined cost of some N.dollars 20 million.

Such reports indicated that the inauguration ceremony will be held at the Independence Stadium, while a private party is expected to be held at the Ramatex complex in Windhoek’s Otjomuise area for more than 3 000 guests.

The RDYL leader thus urged the government to draft a law providing clear guidelines aimed at curbing the misuse of public funds.
