The Namibia Training Authority signs MoU with Murray and Roberts Namibia Limited

WINDHOEK: The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Murray and Roberts Namibia Limited in the capital yesterday, paving the way for Namibian trainees and trainers to undergo job attachment and internship training at the construction, engineering and mining company.

Signing on behalf of the NTA, the institution’s acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anna Nghipondoka explained that trainees and trainers will be selected by the NTA from various construction-related fields of study, including fitters and turners, welders, boilermakers, riggers, bricklayers, plumbers and electricians.

They will get placement at Murray and Roberts construction sites for the purpose of industry attachments.

She added that trainees and trainers will also be selected, depending on the number of trainees or trainers that Murray and Roberts can accommodate at a time, their fields of study, the duration of attachment, and the location of their placement.

Nghipondoka noted that on its part, Murray and Roberts is to ensure that the scope of such attachment covers sufficient technical content and complexity to meet technical learning course requirements.
