Third suspect in money heist arrested at Rosh Pinah appears before court

WALVIS BAY: A third suspect in a money heist which took place last Thursday, was arrested at Rosh Pinah on Tuesday and appeared before court in Lüderitz yesterday.

Moses Bitaa Hikopua, 32, was remanded in custody and his case was postponed to 16 April 2014 in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court.

The other suspects are Freygon Katjire, 23, and 22-year-old Rodger Otjoi.

They all stand accused of stealing N.dollars 332 869.85 in cash and cheques worth N.dollars 562 85.64.

A fourth suspect is still at large.

Katjire, who was the driver of the Namibia Protection Services (NPS) vehicle which transported the money, was arrested on the same day of the alleged theft, while Otjoi was arrested on Friday.

They made a brief appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday this week, and were also remanded in custody, until 14 April when they have to return to court.
