Three new Heads of Mission accredited

WINDHOEK: Three new Heads of Missions in Namibia handed over their letters of credentials to President Hifikepunye Pohamba on Wednesday at State House.

Those presented their credentials are the e Ambassador of Finland Anne Kristiina Saloranta, Ambassador of Niger Rakiatou Mayaki and Ambassador of Senegal, Dr. Momar Diop.

President Hifikepunye Pohamba in his remarks called the Heads of Missions to interact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry in order to enhance the trade relations between Namibia and their respective countries.

“We want to see interacts between your respective countries and our country, particularly when it comes to trade relations,” he said

He encouraged them to work harder in order to increase the volume of trade between Niger, Senegal and Finland

The Head of State used the platform to announce that he will pay a State Visit to Senegal next week on the invitation of that country’s President Macky Sall.

President Pohamba said that he, and his Senegalese counterpart will discuss, among others, the points they had discussed with Sall when he paid a State visit to Namibia last year.
