Three suicides reported over the weekend

WINDHOEK: Three cases of suicide were reported to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) over the long weekend.

NamPol spokesperson Inspector Slogan Matheus told Nampa on Monday that 26-year-old Angala Immanuel hanged himself in his bedroom at his home in Omulunga Street of the Hakahana residential area in Windhoek on Saturday.

The incident occurred between 15h30 and 17h30.

He did not leave behind a suicide note. His next of kin have been informed.

Meanwhile in Luderitz, 36-year-old Nghidimwa Johannes hanged himself in his garage at around 13h00 on Saturday. The deceased was allegedly involved in an accident earlier that day. According to the police, Johannes drove into a public toilet and left the scene before his suicide was reported. His next of kin have been informed.

At Rosh Pinah, Johan Kock, 23, allegedly took his own life when he hanged himself on Friday at the house of a friend where he was staying. Kock left behind a suicide note saying he is “tired of life”.

His next of kin have been informed.

The police are busy with investigation in all reported cases.
