Tiger Caged in Police Holding Cell

TROUBLED boxer Boniface ‘Tiger’ Simasiku is preparing for his next fight in custody at the Windhoek Central Police Station after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

The heavyweight fighter was arrested on 2 April following a domestic altercation with his live-in girlfriend, who subsequently opened a case against him.

Tiger has been charged with assault, assault by threatening and malicious damage to property.

However, he maintains that despite his apprehension, he did nothing wrong other then get involved in a heated argument which ended with him knocking an “already broken” television set to the ground.

“I don’t have money for bail that is why I am still in here,” said Simasiku, who despite his latest setback appears to be in good spirits.

Simasiku, whose list of transgressions include allegedly ‘chickening’ out of a fight against Francis ‘Galagata’ Zulu in Zambia two years ago, said he has spent most of his time in custody working out in anticipation of an imminent fight.

“I spoke to her [girlfriend] yesterday [Sunday] and she told me she will withdraw the case today [Monday] but she has not showed up,” he said.

“I have been busy training for my upcoming fight. I don’t want to fall behind in my preparations that is why I have been training. I don’t know exactly when the fight is but it will be soon. I will be out soon so I will make the fight,” Simasiku said.
