Tjingaveta Defeats Malakia

Jatoorora Tjingaveta defeated Peter Malakia by unanimous decision in their ‘Local is Lekker’ welterweight non-title fight at the Independence Arena in Windhoek on Saturday.

In an entertaining fight, Tjingaveta was rarely troubled by the usually combative Malakia as he dominated to win the showdown which was scaled down from a National Jr welterweight Title contest due to Tjingaveta’s failure to make the required weight.

In the main supporting bout, Walter ‘The Executioner’ Kutondokwa knocked out Theophilus Jatileni within 47 seconds of the opening round of their Middleweight National Title fight.

Kutondokwa barely broke sweat as he sent Jatileni sprawling on the canvas when he caught him flush with a combination of a firm straight left hand and a left hook to the temple.

Jatileni fell face first on the canvas and referee Lazarus Nainda stopped the fight immediately.

In other fights, new kid in the block Mike ‘Silence’ Shonena outclassed veteran Tommy ‘The Lion’ Hango in a welterweight fight over 6 rounds.

Shonena displayed superior hand speed and impressive footwork as he battered away at the sluggish Hango, who looks a pale shadow of the man once rated as an international class fighter.

Earlier, jr lightweight Sebastian Nataniel beat Manfred Hambanga by majority decision debutants Amos Enkala and Edmund Dominikus drew their featherweight fight Kaunampito Iipinge and Lukas Handivele drew their featherweight fight Kennedy Kamati beat Erkana Kalenga by unanimous decision in a lightweight fight Seblon Sheuyange and Matthew Joahnnes drew their featherweight fight Sacky Shipanga beat Risto Ashikoto by majority decision in a flyweight fight and Jacob Jacob knocked out Samuel Nangolo in a flyweight fight.
