TransNamib CEO recruitment in July

WINDHOEK: The recruitment process of the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for TransNamib will commence in July this year.

TransNamib Chairperson, Pieter Oosthuizen told Nampa on inquiry yesterday that the recruitment process will commence as soon as the disciplinary hearing against the suspended boss, Sara Naanda is complete.

Naanda was suspended late October last year when charged with three counts of breach of confidentiality, breach of trust and conflict of interest.

Naanda was suspended with full pay, pending full investigations into the matter.

She became the CEO in February 2013 after replacing Titus Haimbili, who was dismissed due to alleged corruption and nepotism in April 2012.

TransNamib’s Executive for Strategy and Stakeholder Management, Hippy Tjivikua is currently serving as acting CEO.
