Two illegal immigrants from Angola arrested by NamPol

Two illegal immigrants from Angola were arrested by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Walvis Bay and charged with illegal entry on Sunday.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Community Policing Affairs Officer for the Erongo Region, Sergeant Ileni Shapumba arrested the two women in the Kuisebmond residential area.

They are aged 39 and 55.

Shapumba told Nampa yesterday the younger woman claims to be a traditional healer who cures erectile dysfunction and bad luck.

He said the duo, who speak OshiKwanyama, apparently illegally entered Namibia to sell Ombike (Oshiwambo traditional liquor) and later started a traditional healing clinic.

The women have had several clients who paid between N.dollars 30 and 200 for consultations and treatment.

The women only face a charge of illegal entry, as they cannot be charged for claiming to heal people.

They are currently in custody and are expected to appear before the Immigration Tribunal this week.
