Two Road Accidents Claim Ten Lives

TEN people died after two separate car accidents took place on Monday and Tuesday this week.

The first accident occurred on Monday afternoon on the Ondangwa-Omuthiya road where two sedan vehicles collided, killing seven people on the spot.

According to the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, one of the sedan vehicles was a Toyota Corolla and it was carrying five people, of whom four died instantly while the other sedan, a Volkswagen Polo, had four passengers of whom two survived with minor injuries.

The second car crash took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning on the Okahandja-Karibib road when a sedan vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a stationary truck killing three people instantly.

The driver and two passengers died on the spot while the fourth passenger was transported to the Okahandja State Hospital with minor injuries.
