Umissable Total Tara Rally Kicks Off Tomorrow

Day one of the 46th Total Tara Rally kicks off on Thursday, 27 November at the Wanderers Stadium for a total distance of 27.98km.

The 2014 Total Tara will cover 650km over 25 stages in three days. 250km of this distance is pegged as special stages.

Wilro Dippenaar will attempt a third win over the weekend but will face stiff competition from Japie van Niekerk with navigator Gerhard Snyman and their New Africa Developments Ford Fiesta S2000 defending his 2013 win.

A second NAD Ford Fiesta – to be driven by Enzo Kuun (who won the event in 1998), assisted by experienced co-driver Christoff Snyders. Kuun, a double South African national rally champion, deputised for Van Niekerk on the recent Cape Toyota Dealer Rally recently, driving to a fine second place with Snyman alongside. Piet Bakkes, another South African contender will be amongst those running for the S2000 title in his Toyota.

The Total Tara Rally will run through Windhoek on day one and two as well as through Rehoboth on a gruelling day two. Day three will see competitors return to Wanderers Stadium for the finish.
