Young Swartz Succumbs to Stab Wounds

The four-year-old Titus Swartz, who was stabbed by his policeman father in a fit of jealousy over the young boy’s mother receiving cellphone messages, died last week Thursday in the Katutura State Hospital, police confirmed.

The young Swartz had been fighting for his life in the intensive care unit of the Katutura hospital following the stabbing by his father in a jealous rage over Swartz’s mother – who was his father’s girlfriend – receiving SMS’s from another man.

Swartz was stabbed along with this seven-year-old brother, Gregory, who died on the spot when the incident took place over the weekend of April 25 in Gobabis.

The father, 28-year-old police constable, Albertus Ganeb, is expected to make another court appearance this week to have the second charge of murder added to his case following the death of his second son in hospital, said Omaheke Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Josephat Abel.

Ganeb was arrested in the Epako township on the night of April 2, while trying to evade capture. He had been working as a policeman in Gobabis for the past two years.
