Amman: Two children from Gaza returned home on Tuesday after completing medical treatment in Jordan, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said in a statement. The children, who were evacuated to Jordan earlier this year, crossed back into Gaza via the King Hussein Bridge accompanied by five family members.
According to Namibia Press Agency, this event marked the second group of children repatriated under the “Jordanian Medical Corridor” initiative. This initiative is coordinated by JAF in cooperation with the World Health Organization and the Jordanian Health Ministry with the aim of providing treatment for Gazans.
The first group, which included 17 children, was repatriated on May 13. Dozens of Gazan children continue to receive medical care in Jordan following the start of the evacuation efforts in early March, JAF noted.
