Ondjiva – The Interior delegate in Cunene, Commissioner António Ribeiro, on Wednesday urged the staff to put in action all their knowledge and intelligence to ensure the general elections on August 24.

Speaking on the occasion of the commemoration of the 43rd anniversary of the institutionalisation of the Ministry of Interior, he said the staff should raise their levels of readiness, discipline and responsibility.

“In an election year, a set of tasks was designed to ensure a good coexistence before, during and after the election, where the officers are called once again to ensure the security of citizens and institutions,” he said.

António Ribeiro also invited the political players to ponder their speeches, in order to lead the members and sympathizers of their formations, to a posture worthy of a true party of democracy.

The delegate added that the forces of order will not allow atrocities that may put at risk the tranquility and public safety during this period.
