A 30-year-old man makes his first court appearance in the Outjo Magistrate’s Court

A 30-year-old man accused of having murdered 21-year-old Ronald Bock at Farm Eastwood earlier this month, made his first court appearance in the Outjo Magistrate's Court on Monday.

His case was postponed to 25 September 2019.

The accused, RinouzeuTjihoreko, appeared before Outjo Magistrate PeingondjabiShipo, who explained the accused's legal right to engage a privately instructed defence lawyer, a State-funded lawyer through the Ministry of Justice's Directorate of Legal Aid or to defend himself in court.

Tjihoreko opted to apply for a Legal Aid lawyer and his case was then postponed to 25 September 2019 to allow him to acquire legal representation.

Public prosecutor Johannes Kalipi, who represented the State in court, objected to the granting of bail, saying Tjihoreko faces a serious offence of murder.
