African Stars Reinstated Into NPL

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) Appeal’s Committee on Wednesday, 27 August 2014, afternoon delivered their verdict on the appeals hearing held on Saturday, 16 August 2014 in the case between African Stars Soccer Club (pty), Sydney Martin and Clint Dauti against the MTC Namibia Premier League.

The three-man committee chaired by Clement Daniels, after careful consideration of the facts and findings ruled that ” based on the facts, submissions of the parties, and the relevant articles and rules, the appeal is upheld and the decision of the 1st respondent of 24 July 2014 as communicated to the appellants on 25 July 2014 is set aside in totality”. No cost order was made in the ruling.

The appeal was against the Namibia Premier League’s Extra-Ordinary General Assembly Meeting (“EOGAM”) decision to suspend the membership of African Stars (“1st respondent”) from the Namibia Premier League (“the NPL”) and to impose a fine of N$200 000 on Stars and the suspension of Martin and Dauti from NPL related activities for a period of two years.
