An 80-year-old Otjiwarongo resident and his adult male farmworker died

An 80-year-old Otjiwarongo resident and his adult male farmworker (age unknown) died instantly in a collision on the Otjiwarongo-Okahandja B1 road this morning.

The Namibian Police Force’s Otjozondjupa Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commission Naukalemo Andreas told Nampa in an interview at the scene the two men were on their way to the farm at the time of accident.

“Both deceased persons are known to us, but their relatives are yet to be informed officially,” Andreas said.

The police officer said the deceased’s white pick-up was transporting livestock and approximately 55 kilometres south of Otjiwarongo, it collided head-on with an oncoming mini-truck around 08h00.

The livestock being transported, two sheep, also died due to the severe impact of the collision, she said.

A 27-year-old truck driver who was alone in the other vehicle survived with minor injuries.
