Anglican Church ST. Mary’s Odibo Centre gets new admin block

An administrative block, worth some N.dollars 500 000, was officially inaugurated at the Anglican Church in Namibia's ST. Mary's Odibo Centre in the Ohangwena Region's Oshikango Constituency on Sunday.

The idea of constructing the office building came about in 2016 after the church community realised that the old office built many years ago has become outdated.

The church community contributed to the funding of the construction. Speaking during the office's inauguration devotion, a senior member of the St Mary's Odibo congregation, Lydia Ndeutapo said the office building consists of offices such as that of the bishop, priest and secretary.

It has also a strong room, community hall and provided with modern toilet facilities. Retired Arch-Bishop of the Anglican Church in Namibia, ShihalaHamupembe, officiated at inauguration function and wished the office to be free of social evils.

The priest of the congregation, Anna Nghifitikeko told Nampa at the end of the inauguration event that the office is still to be provided with administrative facilities, especially computers and internet connections.

We will continue with the development of this centre and are planning to construct a house for the priest, because the old one is too small and not fit for a big family

The headman of Odibo village and Minister of Safety and Security, Charles Namoloh, has been the patron of the construction of the church office.
