APP launches election campaign in Zambezi

APP (All People's Party) chairperson Linus Muchila says the party wants to increase the number of jobs in the health sector to approximately 30,000 and a police force that is closer to the people it serves in the Zambezi region.

APP launched its election campaign on Thursday in Katima Mulilo for the upcoming National Assembly elections earmarked for November.

Muchali highlighted the problems that are faced by the Namibian nation which prompted the party to contest in the elections as follows, poverty and inequality, unemployment and cheap labour, homelessness, underdevelopment as well as the absence of national documents.

After 29 years of independence, we still have elderly people without identity documents and they are deprived of benefits of old age pension fund and benefiting drought relief food, due to lack of national documents Muchali stressed.

Muchali further stated that the infrastructures in Katima Mulilo are of shame because the roads have potholes everywhere, water and electricity is being cut-off frequently while the health services have drastically reduced with scarce medication and lack of specialists in their respective departments of health.

It is detailed that APP has identified viable solutions to the highlighted problems in which they said that the political party will put agriculture on a higher production level to ensure efficiency and high output that will guarantee food security for Namibia and ensure a degree of food self-sufficiency at household level.

The Zambezi region is rich in agriculture, it has abundance of fresh water resources, fertile soil, good rainfall and a favourable climate condition Muchali stated

APP also identified the establishment of New Major Agricultural Projects such as a Sugarcane farm project alongside the Lake Liambezi, a Horticulture Farm project at Musanga and Commercial Livestock farms for the unutilised forest between Mpancha Military Base and Kongola.

Muchali concluded, encouraging all eligible voters in Namibia to vote for APP for the creation of a just and prosperous society to eliminate poverty, reduce unemployment and underdevelopment, for the nation to reaffirm its sovereignty and self- reliance.
