Bank Windhoek has announced the completion of the second phase of its rollout of cash deposit ATMs in Namibia’s northern, coastal and central regions.

In a media statement on Thursday, Bank Windhoek’s national operations manager, David Nell said that during September, the bank installed cash deposit ATMs at Ondangwa, Ongwediva, Outapi, its main and Capricorn branches in Windhoek, as well as at Platz Am Meer in Swakopmund.

“Earlier this year, we completed a successful trial and testing phase with our first cash deposit ATMs at our Katutura, Walvis Bay, Kuisebmond and Maroela Mall branches. We have extremely positive feedback from our customers, indicating a growing demand for self-service channels,” Nell said.

He added that the next phase of the project will see cash deposit ATMs installed at Okahandja, Arandis, Henties Bay, Swakopmund, Omaruru, Gobabis, Nkurenkuru, Okakarara, Rundu, Katima Mulilo, Lüderitz, Oranjemund, Karasburg, Mariental, Aranos and Keetmanshoop by the end of 2021.

“Our cash deposit ATMs allow Bank Windhoek customers to deposit money safely and securely at any time of day and have it reflected in their accounts immediately. The ATMs, in addition to withdrawals and deposits, also allow for transfers and PIN changes,” he explained.

In terms of customer convenience, Nell added that the self-service aspect would allow customers to save time and experience excellent service options across various channels.

He emphasised that all ATMs operated by Bank Windhoek are located in secure locations with additional security officers on hand to ensure customer safety and peace of mind.

In terms of deposit limits, Nell stated that the amount and number of deposits for Bank Windhoek accounts are unlimited.

“However, the maximum value deposit to other banks is N.dollars 5 000. In the not-too-distant future, this service will be rolled out to all cash-accepting ATMs across the country,” he said.
