Beneficiaries of govt-funded Build Together housing program not repaying housing loans

HENTIES BAY: Some beneficiaries of the government-funded Build Together housing program in Henties Bay have not been repaying their housing loans.

The town’s Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bianca Miriam Nguaiko told Nampa yesterday that this is a concern as without the money, they are unable to construct more houses for other people.

Beneficiaries received housing loans of N.dollars 40 000 each, and are expected to pay back in 20 years.

Unlike some other towns which struggle with their Build Together projects, Henties Bay successfully completed 202 houses last year.

Henties Bay has a population of about 80 000 people, and is located some 70 kilometres north-east of Swakopmund.
